When 34-0 isn’t good enough
"If a tree falls in a forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?" is a philosophical riddle designed to raise questions about observation and knowledge of reality.
The most immediate philosophical topic that the riddle introduces involves the existence of the tree (and its sound) outside of human perception.
To be blunt, I'm not smart enough to answer that. What I do know is that in football, when everyone sees a rout, a lot of people just don't perceive it as such.
